New Web Site Content Management Solution for CFUGS and MMUGS
Boston, MA (October 23, 2001) — PaperThin, Inc., the emerging leader in Web publishing and content management solutions for organizations of all sizes, today announced a unique offer, enabling ColdFusion(R) User Groups (CFUGs) and Macromedia User Groups (MMUGs) free use of PaperThin’s content management software for maintaining their user group Web sites.
“We realize that most CFUG groups don’t have the time to design or maintain a Web site for their members, even though they know they need one,” commented Todd Peters, President of PaperThin, Inc. “PaperThin’s CommonSpot(TM) Content Server is a perfect ColdFusion-based tool for CFUGs to easily keep their sites current.”
Recently, Fig Leaf Software, a PaperThin premier partner who manages five regional CFUGs, created a “CFUG portal” called www.cfugorama.com. Fig Leaf built the site using PaperThin’s flagship content management solution, CommonSpot Content Server 2.5. On this site, CFUGs for Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, DC and Northern Virginia maintain information about their organizations. “We incorporated the kind of functionality that we knew CFUG groups needed, and were able to get the site up in no time,” commented Steve Drucker, CEO of Fig Leaf Software, the firm that started the first CFUG in 1996. “We built in a number of great features, including syndicated technology news on the home page, the ability for members to register for events and download the event right to their MS Outlook calendar, as well as access to a CFUG library.”
“We were delighted with what Fig Leaf Software put together,” commented Todd Peters. “It’s a great example of how easy CommonSpot is to use, and how efficiently it can help organizations manage changing information.”
Additionally, certain of PaperThin’s hosting partners have offered to provide hosting services for CFUG and MMUG sites for a minimal fee. User groups that are interested in using CommonSpot to maintain their Web sites, and learning more about hosting solutions should contact Mindy Daigle (
mdaigle@paperthin.com) at PaperThin for more information.
