PaperThin Continues Expansion of Partner Channel

Web design and development firms recognize benefits of delivering content management

Boston, November 4, 2003 -- PaperThin, Inc., a leading mid-market content management system (CMS) vendor, today announced that it has signed distribution agreements with five new strategic partners. These Web design and development firms have partnered with PaperThin in order to offer their customers an affordable packaged solution for creating and publishing content and managing dynamic Web sites with PaperThin’s CommonSpot Content Server. New partners include Edgewater Technology, Inc. (Wakefield, Mass.), Oaktree (Portland, Ore.), Pacific Intermedia (Portland, Ore.), Raincastle Communications, Inc. (Newton, Mass.), and Zyrex, Inc. (Alhambra, Calif.).

By deploying an off-the-shelf CMS, these firms can build Web sites faster, and focus on delivering value-added services like innovative design, software integration and custom application development. Once site design and development are complete, CommonSpot’s intuitive interface allows end-customers to make content changes and additions directly. Rather than having to rely on the Web development firm to coordinate basic content updates to the site, organizations can now make changes themselves quickly and easily, avoiding costly fees. Over time, this can result in substantial savings.

"By partnering with PaperThin, Edgewater Technology can provide our mid-market clients with a cost-effective, scalable content management solution," said Betsy Norris, Vice President of Business Development for Edgewater Technology. "PaperThin's CMS solution, CommonSpot, is a flexible platform that delivers powerful content management and publishing functionality."

CommonSpot’s out of the box features such as templates and style sheets allow a designer to maintain a consistent look and feel throughout the site, and granular security ensures that content is modified and accessed only by users with appropriate rights. Deploying CommonSpot’s custom element and page index element features, content can be efficiently repurposed throughout the Web site, without extra effort. Since no special technical knowledge is needed in order to use CommonSpot, once the site has been built, the customer’s business staff can easily publish documents, images, PDFs, video clips and other content on the Web site using CommonSpot’s wizards-based interface.

Features like the ability to set future publication and automatic expiration of content, as well as content freshness reminders and link validation are valuable time-savers, and help to ensure that Web content is current and accurate. And enterprise-level features such as advanced cache management, replication, cluster support for load balancing and Verity full text search ensure that CommonSpot can handle the requirements of even the most demanding clients.

"Organizations have higher expectations for their Web sites today – the Web is integral to their business. CommonSpot offers many standard features that might otherwise require custom coding," said PaperThin president Todd Peters. "Instead of building that CMS functionality from scratch, our partners are able to focus efforts on what they do best – design and development – and create sophisticated, attractive and personalized sites that their customers can maintain themselves."
