CMS Vendor Announces the Acquisition of Several New Customers in the Healthcare Industry in Second Half of 2002
Boston,MA (January 21, 2003) -- PaperThin, Inc., a leading mid-market content management system vendor, today announced that several organizations in the healthcare/life sciences sector selected its flagship product, CommonSpot™ Content Server, in the second half of 2002. CommonSpot provides several Web publishing and content management features vital to healthcare organizations, including the ability to manage sensitive information in a secure environment, distribute the responsibility for Web maintenance to non-technical staff, and easily integrate external healthcare applications. CommonSpot’s technology is allowing these organizations to affordably build and manage dynamic Web sites.
The following hospitals recently selected CommonSpot Content Server to manage their Internet initiatives: Baptist Healthcare Systems (Louisville, Ky.), Mayo Clinic (Rochester, Minn.), and Saint Joseph’s Medical Center (Forest Hill, Md.). In addition, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (Arlington Heights, Ill.) and the Epilepsy Foundation (Landover, Md.) recently chose CommonSpot to manage their member sites. On the corporate side, Implant Innovations (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.), a maker of dental implants, chose CommonSpot to manage its Web site.
“Baptist Healthcare System chose to implement CommonSpot Content Server after conducting an extensive review of both mid- and high-end CMS solutions. CommonSpot emerged as the clear choice given its extensibility, relatively short deployment period, and a feature set that rivals high-end CMS products costing many times more. CommonSpot allows us to easily delegate control of content across our intranet and Internet properties, allowing our development team to focus on new initiatives rather than maintaining content,” said Amy Scott, Web systems analyst for Baptist Healthcare. “As a Macromedia ColdFusion®-based product, CommonSpot has allowed us to completely integrate our existing ColdFusion-based applications, as well as customize the system to fit our particular design requirements.”
“While a few years ago brochure-ware sites may have been sufficient, healthcare customers are now demanding tools that can easily integrate with existing applications, provide secure access to content in order to comply with HIPPA requirements, and allow administrative and medical staff to easily create and maintain content on Internet, extranet and intranet sites,” noted PaperThin president Todd Peters. “CommonSpot’s dynamic publishing framework, easy customization via Macromedia ColdFusion, and wizards-based interface allow our healthcare customers to build scalable, secure Web sites quickly and maintain them efficiently.”
