PaperThin is pleased to announce that CommonSpot customer Baptist Healthcare System, based in Louisville, Kentucky, recently took home the top award for its Intranet site at the fourth annual eHealthcare Leadership Awards at the annual Forum for Healthcare Strategists' Leveraging The Internet & Technology for Profitability: The Marketing Edge conference in Phoenix, AZ. Nearly 1,200 entries were received for the awards from a wide range of healthcare organizations.

An independent panel of 104 healthcare technology leaders judged the entries, and Web sites were ranked based on a standard of Internet excellence and comparison with other entries in their classification. Baptist received the Platinum award in the Intranet category for Best Intranet Site - Healthcare System. Among the considerations for the award were how well the organization used its Intranet to enhance patient care, employee productivity, communication and how well the overall site encouraged use.
"The Intranet plays a vital role in our daily operations by streamlining communication and eliminating paper processes. We are honored to receive this recognition that affirms our committment to our eBusiness initiatives," said Scott Smiser, corporate team leader of Internet development at Baptist Healthcare System.
Baptist relies on CommonSpot Content Server to maintain its Intranet and internet sites for the five acute-care hospitals it owns, and for Hardin Memorial Hospital, which it manages. These hospitals form one of the largest not-for-profit healthcare systems in Kentucky, with nearly 9,000 employees.
