Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium Launches New Sites in CommonSpot

 | The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) is a non-profit health organization owned and managed by Alaska Native tribal governments and their regional health organizations. Through its six divisions - Tertiary and Specialty Medical Services at Alaska Native Medical Center (ANMC), Environmental Health and Engineering, Community Health Services, Information/Technology, Human Resources and Administration, the Consortium provides statewide native health services.
Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium and ANMC recently implemented CommonSpot across several existing Internet and intranet sites, formerly built and managed in FrontPage. By converting these sites to CommonSpot, the organizations have seen an increase in the quantity and quality of information on each site, as site content is now more easily and efficiently updated by content owners. In addition, many departments that once lacked the resources to develop Web sites of their own, are now leveraging CommonSpot's out-of-the-box, easy to use functionality to build and maintain departmental sites.
| In order to easily and efficiently gather feedback and information from patients and site visitors, CommonSpot's simple form feature has been used extensively throughout a number of the sites. In-house developers have also taken advantage of CommonSpot's custom script element which has enabled seamless integration with a number of the organization's mission critical applications such as a resource management system, a recruiting platform, an events calendar, and Fusebox.
To ensure that non-technical staff get up-to-speed with CommonSpot, the Consortium has introduced an author's basic training program. This course covers the basics of creating and editing pages in CommonSpot as well as reviews a number of more advanced features. As employees complete the training program, they are free to build their own departmental sites in CommonSpot.
