Lead Technical Writer

PaperThin currently has an opportunity for a senior, lead Technical Writer.  We are looking for a bright, passionate individual with excellent writing skills, a demonstrated experience with web development technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and XML, and strong desire to be part of a successful, fast growing team.

Primary Responsibilities:
As the lead Technical Writer in the organization this person will:
  • Help develop strategic direction for improving internal documentation processes
  • Lead all aspects of creating, managing, editing and updating the product documentation for the company’s flagship product, CommonSpot Content Server.  Write internal and external release notes, functional and technical documentation, architecture-level documentation, white papers, position papers, implementation guides, FAQs, troubleshooting guides, system maintenance documentation, etc.
  • Work closely with our Support Services group to restructure and improve both our internal and external Knowledge Bases, creating, editing and managing technical articles. - Work closely with our pre-sales and sales teams to develop a knowledge repository of technical answers to RFP questions, and will assist in the development of high quality responses to technical RFPs
  • Work closely with our Consulting Services team to develop, update and enhance product training materials and technical white-papers
  • Work closely with our Marketing team updating technical content on our website, product brochures and other marketing vehicles

Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in related field.
  • At least three years of experience as Technical Writer for complex enterprise business applications.
  • RoboHelp proficiency.
  • Experience writing for users with diverse technical abilities, including developer (API level documentation), system administrators, business-oriented "power users" (with strong subject matter knowledge and high expectations), and casual end-users.
  • Solid understanding of the software development process.
  • Excellent written language skills and ability to write clear, concise and easy-to-understand documentation.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • High degree of self-motivation and strong orientation toward teamwork.
  • Effective at multi-tasking, working under tight deadlines and able to complete tasks with a minimum of supervision.
